BRAZILIAN MISSION 2009 IN THE PLANNING STAGES

(8.24.2008) There are no details to share at this time.  More trip information should be available by the beginning of 2009.  Information on fund raisers should be posted here within the next few months.

THE 2008 MISSION HAS BEEN POSTPONED

(4.16.2008) Due to the increased prices of just about everything, the difficult decision has been made to postpone the mission to Manaus and Recife until 2009.  The new plan will consist of increased fund-raising activity and a renewed emphasis on developing the land outside of Manaus.

This postponement was the result of prayerful consideration.  God has not allowed the doors to open very wide for this year's ministry plans.  A favorite philosophy of Rev. Pete Garbacki was displayed when he said (in reference to the postponement), "I will knock on doors, but never try to push them open.  God will open the doors that He wants open.  If I push, I may enter a place God does not want me and find something I really do not want to find."

Plans for fund-raisers include a proposed Missions Banquet with fine Christian entertainment.  It is Mission.Brasil's desire to work hand-in-hand with our home church, Antioch Fellowship Baptist Church, and also share any raised funds with other missionaries Antioch supports.

PLANS FOR NEXT MISSION TRIP IN THE WORKS

UPDATE (3.9.2008): The mission date is to be finalized; however, the trip will focus on Manaus.  There are many opportunities in Manaus. Mission.Brasil has 30 acres of land outside of Manaus that needs to be planned out as well.  So the ministry will center out of Igreja Baptista Ebenézer.

Tentative plans for the next Outreach: July 1, 2008- July 15, 2008 Ministry in Recife at the Seminario de Educação Cristã Ministry at the Igreja Batista Missionaria em Cáetes I and in conjunction with Igreja Batista Ebenezer in Manaus.

PRESENTATION OF MISSION TRIP PLANS TO ANTIOCH FELLOWSHIP

Rev. Pete Garbacki ministered in song (Portuguese and English) at Antioch Fellowship Baptist Church in Spring Hill, FL on Sunday January 27, 2008 during the morning service.  He also shared the vision for Mission: Brasil 2008.  You can view the song by following this link: Take Me Jesus (Aceitame Jesus) at Antioch.
